Charge with Solar

As your SunPower Equinox® system generates energy during the day, any energy you're not using is sent to your solar battery system for later use. Depending on the storage system you choose, this stored electricity can be used to help you save on your electricity bills or power your home during an outage. *

Increase Your Energy Independence

Increase Your Energy Independence

Oftentimes, utility companies will charge more for electricity when demand is high. With a solar battery system, you can store your own clean, solar energy and use it to power your home when utility rates are usually at their most expensive, helping you save money on your electric bill.*

Enjoy More Solar Savings

Enjoy More Solar Savings

When paired with your SunPower Equinox system, a solar battery can help boost your electricity bill savings more than just solar panels alone. Even as grid electricity rates rise, you can enjoy long-lasting peace of mind knowing you’ve made the smart choice for your home—and your wallet.

Help Lower Your Electricity Bills: Solar Battery without Backup

The equation is simple: the more you're able to use the electricity your home solar produces to power your home, the less electricity you'll need to buy from the grid. SunPower's solar battery system without backup captures and stores any excess solar energy your panels may produce during the day and saves it for use when utility rates are typically most expensive, helping you save money on your electric bill.*

Battery system benefits under NEM 3.0 in California

Adding a home battery is key to getting the most out of solar under NEM 3.0 in California.

Frequently asked questions about solar battery storage

What is NEM 3.0 and how does solar battery storage factor into play?

NEM 3.0 is an updated solar buyback rate program in California effective April 2023 for PG&E, SCE, and SDG&E customers. Under NEM 3.0 the precise value solar customers are compensated varies with grid demand based on time, day, and month– but is on average 75% lower than it was for NEM 2.0 systems.

Solar batteries benefit homeowners by enabling you to store your excess energy rather than sending it back to the grid, allowing you to use it later to maximize the value of that energy.
