Setting your preferred operating mode for SunVault storage
SunVault storage is capable of operating in 3 modes, as listed below. You can change modes using the mySunPower app at any time.
The default setting is Self-Supply mode, which maximizes your use of solar by charging during daylight hours and using battery power after the sun goes down.
Reserve Mode stores 100% of your battery power in case there's a power outage.
Cost Savings mode limits your use of grid energy at peak times when it's most expensive.
If you select Cost Savings or Self-Supply mode, we recommend setting reserve energy at 20% or more so you're ready for an unexpected power outage.
