When Richard M. became interested in putting solar on his house just outside San Diego in Escondido, California, he did what any professional building contractor would do: he evaluated the options.
"I found that the best solar panels were SunPower's; their ratings were absolutely superior to every other company," said Richard.
As a contractor himself, Richard places high priority on craftsmanship—both in terms of the quality of building products and the people who install them. He contacted several installation companies before deciding SunPower by Milholland Electric was the right team for the job.
"They answered all my questions—and I had a bunch—and were incredibly patient," Richard recalls. "I know what a good contractor looks like, and I was very impressed. The guys were very polite, made sure they cleaned up every day, and they were really responsive to myself and my wife on every detail. We've been totally happy."
Today, the Richard's Mission-style tile roof is neatly arrayed with 45 SunPower solar panels. Because of SunPower's superior energy output, fewer panels are required to generate the power needed to offset the entire family's monthly utility bill. Richard tracks their savings from solar every month.
"I have no electric bill, and that's exactly what I was looking for from solar," he explains.*Electricity cost savings will vary based on several factors, including geographic location, roof and home orientation, access to sunlight, system size, panel type, electrical usage as well as availability of local incentives such as net metering.
In fact, Richard is so satisfied with the savings and overall experience, that he's now looking into adding solar for his business, too. And he knows exactly who to call to get the job done right.
