It looks like homeowners in the Goshen, New York, Heritage community have a case of “Keeping up with the Joneses,” but in this situation it’s a good thing.
Nine residents (and more to come soon) have installed a whopping 58.47 kWh of SunPower home solar. They’re quickly discovering that going solar is saving them money by reducing or eliminating their electric bills.
“The last bill was zero dollars,” resident Andrew Dobish told us.*The sample above may not represent the average customer’s experience. Customer savings vary depending upon a number of factors including (but not limited to) the following: weather, equipment used, system size, system orientation and shading, insolation available, applicability of utility rates and rate structure, as well as customer’s eligibility for rebates, incentives, and net-metering or similar programs (the availability of which may differ for each customer).

The SunPower by New York State Solar Farm solar system on Dobish's striking white home on Laurel Circle got his neighbors intrigued.
He began referring other families (solar homeowners can earn cash rewards for referrals), and the Goshen Laurel Circle clean energy movement was underway.
In fact, his neighbor Ryan Adler had already chosen a different solar company, but after he talked to Dobish, he decided to get an estimate from SunPower by New York State Solar Farm and decided that SunPower was a better choice.
